Biology Class Information
Supplies:
In order to be successful in Biology students will need the following materials and supplies:

For daily individual use:

1.5'' binder with pockets
-
5 pocket dividers
​
Turned in to teacher for classroom use:

4'' x 6'' index cards (2 packages)
​
One item for the classroom: (Assigned by class period on the first day of class)

Kleenex
-
Paper towels
-
Ziploc bags (sandwich, quart or gallon)
​
It would be very beneficial for students to carry with them daily the following supplies for their personal use:
#2 pencils, colored pencils, glue sticks, highlighters, pens and a pair of scissors.
Gradebook Codes:
Please be advised of the following gradebook codes and information:

Blanks or (-) = Grade not yet entered.

"X" = Excused from assignment due to absence. This does not calculate against the average and does NOT need to be made up.

"Z" = "Working zero" due to absence. This does calculate as a zero in the average and should be made up.
-
"0" = Student was present and did not turn in an assignment, was absent but failed to turn the assignment upon return OR student earned a numerical grade of zero.
-
"0.1" = Student made work up for retest requirement but no credit can be earned back.

All retests and/or test replacements will be entered as the new average, followed by a decimal point and the previous average.
​
Ex. A student earns an original grade of 65 on a test and retests after appropriate remediation. This student earns an 85 on their retest. The grade would be entered as 85.65 in the gradebook.
